Find Treatment

Non-Emergency, Volunteer-Based Health Care

The PWAFC provides primary and preventive care, treatment for chronic diseases, specialty care, well-woman exams, and limited behavioral health and dental services. Care is provided by volunteer health care professionals, supplemented by the PWAFC’s Medical Director. Health and wellness programs are offered monthly and quarterly to meet the needs of our patients and to promote patient involvement in improving their own health.

Most services are by appointment, with walk-in slots for patients on Tuesday evenings. Services are available only to eligible patients.

What We Offer

Primary and Chronic Care

  • Non-emergency primary care (treatment for minor acute illnesses like bronchitis and headaches)

  • On-going care for chronic illnesses (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and asthma)

  • Preventative medical care (flu shots and cancer screenings)

Pharmacy Services for PWAFC patients only. RX must be written by PWAFC provider. We do not carry or write for any controlled medications.

  • Our in-house pharmacy provides free acute illness medications and bridge doses for patients on new prescriptions who need to get medications that day

  • We prescribe many generic, well-known, and affordable drugs through the $4 prescription lists at local pharmacies. We also use GoodRX to let patients know about the best prices near them

  • For our patients who are chronically ill we partner with a central fill pharmacy to get one to three month supplies of medications like insulin and inhalers
